Sales Terms & Auction Rates
All vehicles are SOLD AS SEEN unless otherwise stated at the
point of sale by the auctioneer.
Vehicles offered with a TRIAL give warranty to engine and
gearbox only. All trials must be taken within one hour of the end
of sale. This can be arranged by us. Just ask.
There is a Buyer's Premium fee payable on each vehicle bought.
This gives you clean entitlement to the vehicle indemnifying you as
a customer against any finance, which may be outstanding. It also
indemnifies you if the vehicle has been stolen prior to you buying
it.
A minimum part payment is required at the point of bidding -
£200 for vehicles up to £999, £300 for vehicles up to £1999 and
£500 for vehicles of £2000 and over. Payment may be cash or
debit/credit card, with 3 proofs of address identification or a
photo driving license. (As of March 31st 2007 if you do not
have Photo and Address ID a surcharge of £10 will be added to your
buyers premium).
Once a bid has been made, you have entered into a contract with
Birmingham Car Auctions where your bid will stand and may not be
withdrawn. Some vehicles are sold provisionally. This means that
there is a reserve price on the vehicle that your bid has not met.
A provisional bid stands until 12pm the following working day,
which allows us time to contact the vendor to submit your bid. If
your bid is unsuccessful, then your part payment is refunded. If
successful, then the part payment is deducted from the price and
the balance is payable by 5pm the same day.
Payment is accepted in the form of cash, credit / debit cards,
banker's draft or a building society cheque. A personal cheque will
be accepted for part payments if a valid cheque guarantee card is
produced. A 2% charge is applied to payments by credit card. If you
are paying by credit card or debit card, 3 forms of address
identification must be shown or a photo driving license.
(As of March 31st 2007 if you do not have Photo and Address
ID a surcharge of £10 will be added to your buyers
premium).
